⭐ 2026 PRIMARY ENDORSEMENTS
DAvid Gomberg
Why we endorsed DAvid Gomberg for Oregon House District 10
He was first elected to House District 10 in 2012 and has represented the Oregon coast ever since. He has led the way for animals throughout his time in Salem.

- HB 2904: added transparency and accountability requirements for the Oregon National Primate Research Center following reports of abuse
- HB 2915: banned the sale of puppy-mill-sourced animals in Oregon pet shops
- HCR 8: designated the shelter rescue animal as Oregon’s official state pet
- HB 3213: prohibited the sale of cosmetics tested on animals
- SB 5535: directed the Oregon Racing Commission to review online betting, greyhound racing, and related animal welfare concerns
- HB 3395 and HB 5511: secured $1 million to help homeless and domestic violence shelters accommodate pets, so survivors aren’t forced to choose between safety and their animals
2013 to 2022
- SB 1504: limited wagering on greyhound races in Oregon
- HB 2915: banned the sale of puppy-mill-sourced animals in Oregon pet shops
Animal welfare advocates who have worked with him for years describe him as one of the most effective legislators in the country on these issues, and his colleagues in Salem have come to see him as the go-to lawmaker when it comes to protecting animals. Gomberg has built this record over more than a decade, and he continues to introduce and pass new animal protection bills nearly every session.
We’re proud to endorse David Gomberg. Few legislators in Oregon have done more to translate concern for animals into real, enforceable law.
